The author of Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library, Chris Grabenstein, joins us with The Island of Dr. Libris. Imagine if the characters you read about came to life and some were out to get you. Billy's summer reading may really kill him and his friend unless they can outmaneuver classic book creations. Robin Hood, Hercules, Pollyanna, Tom Sawyer and more make for an irresistible literary mash-up in a land where books rule. For ages 8+.

Conn's new website launched over the break and it has a great new look! But it navigates a little differently from the old site and I wanted to make sure you found all the links you need that were on the Media/Tech page. You now access the online book catalog and many of the online resources through here, the Media Center weebly. I am constantly looking for ways to make this the "go to" place for all things literacy and research and exactly what YOU need! Please help me by making suggestions and requests through the "Ask Ms. Shore.." link in the menu. I look forward to hearing from you. Everything is still here, it just has a spruced up look! :)
Speaking to K-2 students today in the media center, Helen Lester shared her journey as the author of the Tacky the Penguin and Wodney Wat series along with many other titles. She encouraged students to write down their ideas and save everything. Thank you to Conn PTA for funding her visit. Also thank you to Quail Ridge Books and Rachel Pair at Courtyard-Crabtree for their support. Helen Lester, author of Tacky the Penguin and many other books, visits Conn students in grades K-2 Wednesday, March 11. Students have been busy getting ready for her visit by reading and responding to many of her works. First grader are even writing their own Tacky story using her upcoming title "Tacky and the Haunted Igloo!" Thank you to Conn PTA who supports this opportunity, along with Quail Ridge Books and Music and Courtyard-Crabtree Raleigh. Watch our Twitter feed tomorrow to "join" the fun!
